Sounds of the environment were captured with an ultrasonic microphone. The audio was imported into a spectral analysis program. It was then down tuned and frequencies above 1500 Hz were removed. The playback was slowed to make subtle details perceptible. Zooming in on the spectral lines revealed a dense, interconnected network, which was captured as a visual representation of the sound’s structure.
